Welcome to Throwback Sports! My name is Matthew Lippe. I am currently a Freshmen at Kansas State University majoring in Marketing. I began this page began for one reason, and one reason only: to share my passion for sports history with others!
Growing up, my father had an amazing trading card collection that always captivated my imagination (he writes some of the articles for this blog as well). I would spend hours looking at these cards, as I learned more about some of sports greatest athletes. However, as I moved through middle school and high school, I realized that none of my peers shared the same enthusiasm for sports history as I did. So , in 2018, I began a Twitter page called Throwback Sports, which allowed me to connect with like minded sports fans and discuss sports history.
Throwback Sports now has a following of over 3,500 users and while I love Twitter, I wanted to begin a blog where I could express my feelings in depth. The Throwback Sports blog will only ever deal with sports memories and events from the past. Further, this blog will hopefully be a place where you can turn to, after a long day at work, school, or family, and relive some of the greatest sports moments.
